Feedback that speaks for itself

Sarah DuBois’s collection of poems on mental health is a meaningful work of art that speaks directly to readers with gentle touches and compassion, clear information, an understanding of the subject matter, a strong and affirming voice, the purity of mindfulness, and the willingness to interject her personal experiences into the book’s content.

Setting out to compose her book, Sarah’s decision to write in poetic form emerged as the key to the quality of her content. That strategy creates a stronger relationship between author and audience than text can, leans toward clear and deep expression, and is effective in realizing the author’s principal theme. Additional strategies enhance the book further. These include the author’s personal messages, her self-questioning, varied written forms, prompts, and variation in formatting.

Within this beautiful book, readers will find hope as well as direction and they will witness the powerful testament of the author’s willingness to say good-bye to her old self, to wonder and vision new places, people, and situations, step out and live her own life, discuss self-worth, let go, and much more.

Sarah DuBois’ timeless collection of mental health poetry is a beautiful balm for a troubled heart. Written during the pandemic, her words will, any time before or after, provide insights and aspiration to those in need of her words’ soft touch. There is such an intrinsic sense of hope undergirding this book. A sensitivity, an understanding, and a vulnerability that is the core of any good poetry. Her book will speak to anyone whose soul longs to recall we all belong; and we are connected through the beauty in words.

Sarah is a wonderful, one-of-a-kind mental health poet and advocate, devoted wife and mother! This beautiful collection of poetry is uplifting, supportive, and comforting to all of those who might be struggling with their mental health. She is passionate in her writing and each poem reveals that her heart just wants to help others who may be feeling lost, unsupported and sad…the book itself is uniquely designed–there are lovely little flowers and designs on each page…this collection would be an amazing gift for not only those in your life that might want a book of poetry…but those who might need a lift and some sunshine and warmth from her words! She is amazing! Now I am looking forward to Sarah’s future books to own!

Seasons of Change is a deeply relatable and genuine read. The writing feels real and personal, with thoughtful details that make you feel cared for as a reader. The illustrated cover is brilliant, and that same creative touch continues throughout the pages. I especially loved the author’s note at the end it felt like a warm hug from a friend. A beautifully put-together book that I would recommend to anyone.

I recentrly re-read this book. Having known the author, personally, during the incidents written about in this prose, it shows a marked shift toward a mature person, who still struggles, dealing with disease, children, failed relationships, marriage, health and job experiences. Her first book dealt with teenage angst, this one shows her evolution to a wife, mother and individual, in her own right. Currently dealing with my own difficult relationships, theft of my personal identity and loss of health insurance, none of which were my fault. I found this book of poetry inspirational and a helpful adjunct to getting through these issues. Highly recommend.

“The wonder of a child’s mind should still be within us” – from “Innocent Beauty.”

Sarah DuBois’s deep-felt journey through the seasons that change in all of us reveals an emotional depth each of us has but to tap into. She takes us by the hand and courageously unveils the light and the darkness that we all experience in our seasonal dance around the sun.

In “Letting Go,” her beautiful poetry holds our breath as the leaf of a tree become autumn of our lives:
“But now I know… That leaves don’t fall after all… They fly… And so… Will I.”

“Seasons of Change” is road of beautiful language cast into a poetic vision full of radiant changes that each season unfolds for each of us.

“Even in darkness… Butterflies like me break free… Bravely fly away”

The luminous sky in Sarah DuBois’s poetry beckons. Fly with her.
